Thought it was time to let you all know what's been 'go'in on' these past couple of months. I haven't been around for reasons I thought you should know. (Didn't want you to think that I'd forgot about you!)
My 89 year old step dad was gravely ill a few months back and we thought we would lose him... But by him being a tough German he survived (thank God). After he returned home all was well until seven weeks ago my mother, Marie,(80 years young) went out to feed the birds on a frosty Saturday morning,slipped and shattered her ankle. After surgery and two week in the hospital, they refused to release her home because of my dads inhability to care for her. There where two choices. For them to live with me or to go to a nursing home. The later was not an option. Five weeks ago my parents moved in to my home and I took on the role of care giver. It has been a twenty four hour a day job, but mom just had her cast removed yesterday and with assistance, they will hopefully return to their home in three weeks.
Unfortunaly, I may not be able to attend the Oregon Chainsaw championship due to the lack of time I will have to prepare.
I will keep you posted on that.
I just wanted you all to know.. because you feel like family to me, what's been going on.

I'm so happy that your folks are doing better and I hope and pray that they'll keep doing better every single day!
We have definitely missed you on the board. Your presence here makes us smile from our hearts!
If you can't make that competition in Oregon I'm sure there will be other opportunities coming down the pike! I'm just glad that you'll be able to get back to your carving because it's what you love doing and I'll just bet that you'll be back in the swing of things forthwith! Practice makes perfect but your talent is obviously natural!

Thank you for sharing another side of Cherie with us about your family. It shows what we already knew, that your heart is big and that you are a caring person.

I just wanted to tell you that my thoughts and prayers are with you. You sent me e-mails to get me through the times that I was going through with my Father. And I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you and your family. They couldn't ask for a better caregiver.
